From the moment you glance at the menu, you’ll notice a selection of dishes that are both comforting and innovative. One of the most popular dishes on the menu is the lamb shoulder, slow-cooked to perfection with a blend of aromatic spices that make it tender and full of flavor. The balance of textures and spices in these dishes showcases the restaurant's ability to create a modern twist on traditional recipes while still keeping the authenticity of Middle Eastern cuisine intact.

It's clear that the restaurant pays as much attention to the vegetable dishes as it does to its meat offerings, ensuring a well-rounded menu that caters to all dietary preferences.

No meal at Maha East is complete without indulging in their selection of desserts. The baklava is a classic, perfectly sweetened and layered with crunchy nuts that add an extra dimension to its flavor. If you're after something a bit more decadent, the chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream is simply irresistible, offering a rich, gooey center that's a dream come true for any dessert lover.

  • Exceptional service from Vlad. This man deserves a pay raise! Although we didn’t make it a point to ask why the food and drinks were taking so long as it was a very obviously busy Friday night - he noticed we’d been waiting for a while (~30-40 mins) and came over to apologise and tell us it wouldn’t be too long more. This act in itself was much appreciated but he took it a step further to offer complimentary drinks and threw in extra dessert. Overall, Maha East didn’t disappoint. The long wait was fully worth it and the set menu offered great variety and the ease of ordering. Every course was great, unique and couldn’t fault the flavours, presentation or portion sizes. Even if the food or drinks don’t leave you entirely satisfied, the service surely will :)

  • One of the best dining experiences we had. We had the sharing menu and we were stuffed. Food was divine and every bite was full of flavours! Atmosphere was cozy and not too busy. Perfect for get togethers and date nights! Staff’s were brilliant especially the bartender who served us that evening. Very welcoming and knowledgeable about the food and drinks. We’ll come back again very soon!

  • My first Maltese feast at Shane Delia’s Maha East was an unforgettable experience. I first let them know I am pescatarian, which was no problem. A delicious take on Maltese modern cuisine, every dish was truly mouth-watering in both taste and flavours. From the first bite to the last, the food was beautifully balanced, bold, and thoughtfully crafted, celebrating tradition with a modern edge. An absolute feast for the senses and a dining experience I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

  • Situated right across the train station, very hard to miss. It’s dim and intimate, perfect for a date. The waiter was being difficult about the seating as we didn’t book a reservation. Mind you, it’s a Wednesday night and we were there from 6-7:30 pm, peak dinner hour, but merely anyone in the restaurant. Yet we were put at the bar. The food was good, but it’s better at Maha, their CBD location. The chicken was juicy but flavourless. Scallops were great. Bread and hummus are a must when visiting. Rice is good, but the broccolini was a bit hard. Overall, it’s okay. The drink menu was very limited, which is disappointing considering this is more of the wine bar format of their sister restaurant.

  • Beautifully elegant space which is small but designed so it doesn't feel cramped. We had the set menu of shared entrees, flavours were well balanced snd perfect size. The second course was shared mezze with the tasty staples of hummus, eggplant, chickpeas and less generous portions of rare tuna. The 3rd course were generous shares of lamb and beef perfectly cooked. Would have appreciated a few more veges as they were delicious. The desert was delicate and light just not sure the balance of chocolate to orange was right. Staff were polished and the Somm was down to earth which was appreciated. Nice to see the owner actually at the venue. Only thing that I would say is when staff a cleaning oily spills inc sesame seeds off the table that they use a plate instead of attempting to wipe it onto the floor. Unfortunately the stains didn't come out in the drycleaning.

  • My husband and I enjoyed the Maltese Feast. It was all so delectable. I can't wait to visit my parents homeland again, and visit all the places in Shane's series. Customer service was on point, everyone was so lovely and nothing was too much. And the Turkish Delight Martini was so good, I had to have 2. Thankyou for a fabulous night

  • Absolutely sensational food. If you love middle eastern food, you cannot miss this one. We had a tasting menu plus snacks and I can definitively say that there was not one even slightly substandard item. Do not miss the snacks! The lamb main was also exceptional, but my personal favorite was the dessert: whipped knafeh with lemon syrup and almond ice cream. Great service as well!

  • The Maltese menu was my Maltese wife and I Christmas gift to each other. The food was delicious even the conserver with oil had us asking for more house made bread. The mortadella cream with mozzarella balls, the cheese, beans all fantastic. The rabbit and pork with rice also yummy. Topped by the most delicious peach sorbet and date cigar. We will be back even with the 2 hour trip from Geelong.
